I have been thinking about my next post for a while and I wanted to do something more uplifting. That is why I wanted to talk about some people who I downright think are just rad people.
Today I want to highlight my good friend Skyler. I have no idea how many years Skyler and I have been friends but I can tell you it has been a long time. I remember I used to go to his house when we were young and play in the green belt. I thought Skyler had it all. He had a cool snake, if I remember right a black dog that was really friendly, and an electric guitar. I remember when he learned how to play Paradise City on the guitar and he came to school and told me all about it.
Later on I admired his Ford Falcon on a daily basis and his inventive imagination that brought a piece of crap truck into a crazy off road machine. We prepared for our missions at the same time by going to institute together and Skyler even took me to the Oral Surgeon to take my wisdom teeth out. During our missions we kept in touch by mail and even an unofficial Christmas call to see how each other were doing. Also Skyler was one of my groomsmen in my wedding about two and a half years ago.
Today I feel Skyler is living a great life. He has an incredible wife Elise that he can share almost all of his hobbies with and from what I can tell he really likes the work that he is doing at his ad agency. My wife and I do get to hang out with them from time to time. I think it is great that not only my wife enjoys hanging out with some of my great friends but that I have been able to maintain such great friendships with people like Skyler over so many years.
So this may have a kind of obituary feel to it and I did not mean to do this. As of last night Skyler is alive. I just wanted to write something about someone whom I admire and am grateful for the years of friendship. I am sure that some of you also know Skyler so lets make him feel good and tell him what we think of him. Skyler, you are the man of the day.

Wow, man of the day! In the whole entire world?! I think that is definitely accurate!
I am so thrilled Skyler is your chosen man of the day. I have some fond memories of Skyler too. We used to go to Del Taco before early morning Seminary or just ditch Seminary all together and listen to NOFX. He helped me learn the words to the entire Punk in Drublic album and celebrated with me when my car hit 1000 miles. We worked for hours together at Boardwalk Boardshop and I'd often have to clean his skate wounds. We used to ride around in the Grey Ghost videotaping our visits to McDonald's and the Yorba Linda Runner. We used to add an F in grip tape to an Art sign in front of Albertsons and take midnight trips to Krispy Cream to share a dozen donuts. He tried to teach me how to wake board a few times with no success but he was successful at teaching me how to olie. We wrote back and forth on his mission (and talked on the phone a few times) and I've kept every letter, including the one written on an old McDonald's french frie container. He too was a member of our bridal party and has been at every big milestone in my life. I love you too Skyler, you'll always be one of my favorites.
i love bromance! seriously.
i love skyler because he's rad. he makes me laugh. he shocks me with his clairvoyance (in a good way). i admire his knowledge of pop culture. and he is funny as hell.
skyler is my brother. he is hairy enough to be a persian man.
You and Jennifer need to have some kids so that you will actually have something interesting to blog about!
This IS interesting! What's wrong with praising a friend?
i'm with erin on this one!
