The other night I had a dream. It was actually a really great dream and it did make me very happy. Well this is what happened. Jennifer and I had a baby! Now let me clarify something here. Contrary to popular belief, Jennifer and I do want to have children. We are excited about becoming parents. We have this crazy idea that people should plan these things out and having a child right now is just not in our plans. Would we be unhappy if Jennifer got pregnant? Not at all, in fact we would be so excited. We just want to wait a little bit longer.
Now back to the dream. Well Jennifer wasn’t around when the nurse asked me for our baby girl’s name. We were just about to leave the hospital and we had not named our daughter yet. I was taken a little off guard when she asked so I gave them the first name that came to my mind. Well I had a little bit of explaining to do as I told Jennifer that I named our daughter Recluse. I have no idea why I named her that but we learned a valuable lesson that day. Have a name ready.

But seriously, we went to the hospital with a few names and decided after Lyla was born. The hospital even made her a few name tags with the different names on it. Lyla's name tag was actually prettier than the other name, which is probably the biggest reason why we chose it. Not really, but still.
So funny! We have been married more than 4 years and still have no kids and seriously, I can't say I am feeling sick without people asking me if I am preggers! We, too, are looking forward to having kids but wanted to be in a position to afford it (ie, not having my husband in school). Now that he is working I feel like we are as ready as we'll ever be! Don't worry - you're not alone in your wait-to-have-kids view!
It's about time people started planning those kind of things! Of course I planned mine completely and then I got laid off so it pretty much sent the whole plan of being ready and a long maternity leave out the window. Just my luck. Now I am just going with the flow and praying for the best.

I don't know if it's lack of sleep or what, but this post made me laugh really hard. You guys are going to have cute kids! I think you should let Jennifer name your kids though.
Oh my goodness! This cracked me up! Jeremy and I get the baby questions all the time....we are going on four years of marriage...and are still in agreeance that we would like to wait another year or two before we start a family. So sounds like we are on the same page! Also, I had the same kind of dream once....only Jeremy named our little girl Clinton! So random....when I woke up I made him promise that he would not name our children without checking with me first!
